The Anoka Junior Soccer Association was started in 1980 by Bob Peterson, Dale ’Skip’ Hovind, and Del and Carol Westman. There were two teams the first year, an under 12 boys team and an under 14 boys team. On February 2, 1982 the Anoka Junior Soccer Association registered with the Minnesota Secretary of State as a non-profit Corporation. On May 3rd of 1993, the club changed it’s name with the Secretary of State to the Anoka Junior Soccer Association, Inc., also a non-profit Corporation.
In 2000, the club changed it’s name again to the Anoka Area United Soccer club,
and in 2006, the club changed it’s name again to The Minnesota Revolution Soccer Club.
Highlights of the club include:
The 1995 U19 boys team won the Minnesota State Cup title and went to the regional finals
before losing to a team from Chicago, 4-2.
In 1996, the U18 girls from Anoka won the ’A’ bracket of the USA CUP.
During the tournament the team did not allow a goal.
In 2001, the under 18 girls from Anoka won the Premier state championship
In 2004, the U17 boys from Anoka won the USA Cup - A Bracket
The past presidents of the club include: Darrel Westman, Laurie Davis, Jim Moldenhauer,
Beverly Swanson, Steve Sexton & Nancy Giancola.
